TrueGround 140W charging for properly grounded desks

Use the GP140B when you want compact GaN charging plus the TrueGround protective-earth path. With a properly grounded UK Type G (3 Pin) socket, leakage current is routed to earth instead of through the device user, helping remove/reduce tingling, buzzing, vibration, or static-like micro-shock sensations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this different from a normal compact charger?

TrueGround uses a Class I protective-earth path, while most compact GaN chargers are Class II two-pin designs with no earth connection. Even when other charger are using 3Pin it doesn't mean it is a true Class 1 Charger. If the center pin is Plastic, it is still based on 2 Pin design.

Does the grounding benefit work with every socket?

No. The anti-tingle, anti-buzzing, and static-like micro-shock benefit depends on a properly grounded UK Type G / 3-pin socket or adapter with real earth continuity. All Malaysia Socket are required to be 3 Pin Grounded socket, therefore it will work with majority of all Malaysia Socket.

Is a 140W charger actually safe to use at home, or is it overkill?

140W is the maximum output — the charger delivers only what your device requests, so there is no risk of overloading a phone or tablet. For high-wattage USB-C laptops like a MacBook Pro 14/16-inch, Dell XPS 15/17, or Surface Pro, 140W means full-speed charging rather than a slower top-up. For a Samsung Galaxy phone or Google Pixel, it delivers exactly what those devices request. The charger adjusts automatically. In practical terms: one charger handles your entire desk — laptop, phone, and tablet — without swapping adapters.

Why should I pay more for this when cheaper chargers do the same job?

Cheaper chargers typically use Class II insulation only — no earth path for leakage current. The GP140B is certified under IEC 62368-1:2018 (International Electrotechnical Commission standard) as Class I equipment, meaning leakage current is routed to earth rather than through you or your device. That engineering difference is why it carries ST (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) approval No. 022161/25 and a CB Scheme test certificate from KTL — not just a CE mark. If you charge a MacBook Pro, Dell XPS 15, or any aluminium-chassis laptop regularly, the safety margin is not theoretical. The 24-month warranty is included. IEC 62368-1:2018 is the same standard applied to chargers sold by Apple

I feel a tingle on my laptop when it is charging - is my charger causing this?

Yes, that tingle is real and it has a name: touch current from leakage voltage. It happens when a charger has no earth path to drain it safely. The GP140B eliminates this entirely. MacBook Pro and Dell XPS users commonly report the sensation on aluminium chassis when using Class II chargers — the GP140B routes that leakage current to earth via its protective earth pin, measured at a protective-earth path when connected to a properly grounded Type G socket. The GP140B is certified under IEC 62368-1:2018 Class I (International Electrotechnical Commission) — the engineering classification that requires this earth conductor. On ungrounded sockets, reinforced insulation provides active protection as a backup, so the charger is safe either way. The full CB test report is available on request at mokin.my/pages/contact.

Can one charger handle my laptop and phone at the same time?

Yes. The GP140B delivers 140W via USB-C Power Delivery, which is enough to simultaneously charge a MacBook Pro 14 or 16-inch, Dell XPS 15 or 17, Surface Pro or Surface Laptop, or any USB-C PD gaming laptop alongside a second device. All USB-C iPhones (iPhone 15 series and newer, including iPhone 17 and future USB-C iPhone models), Samsung Galaxy phones, Google Pixel phones, and tablets are compatible — any device that supports USB-C Power Delivery works. The smart display shows real-time wattage so you can confirm each device is receiving power. Single-port output at 140W; check your device's PD wattage rating to confirm it can accept the full output.

How do I know this charger is actually approved and not just claiming to be?

The GP140B holds ST (Suruhanjaya Tenaga / Energy Commission Malaysia) Certificate of Approval No. 022161/25 — meaning it was independently tested to IEC 62368-1:2018 (International Electrotechnical Commission standard) before being legally sold in Malaysia. It also carries a CB Scheme certificate issued by KTL, plus CE and RoHS certifications. In certification order for Malaysian buyers: ST approval first, then CB Scheme, CE, RoHS. ST approval is per-SKU and tied to the specific GP140B model — not a blanket brand claim. The CB test report and ST COA documentation are available on request. IEC 62368-1:2018 is the current international benchmark for audio, video, and IT equipment safety — the same standard applied to chargers sold by major global brands.

If something goes wrong, how do I actually make a warranty claim?

MOKiN covers the GP140B for 24 months against manufacturing defects from your date of purchase. To claim: keep your purchase receipt, then reach out via WhatsApp at +601125560060, email support@mokin.my, or use the contact form at mokin.my/pages/contact — in-store support is also available. Describe the fault and share your proof of purchase. Manufacturing defects are covered; physical damage from misuse is not. Response times and resolution steps will be confirmed by the support team once your case is logged. Having your receipt ready makes the process faster.

Does this charger work with non-Apple laptops and Android phones too?

Yes, the GP140B works with any device that supports USB-C Power Delivery — it is not Apple-exclusive. Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17, Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, Google Pixel phones, and USB-C PD gaming laptops all charge at their rated wattage. All USB-C iPhones (iPhone 15 series and newer, including iPhone 17 and future USB-C iPhone models) are also compatible. The smart display shows live wattage per session so you can verify the output your device is drawing. If your laptop accepts USB-C PD input, the GP140B supports it up to 140W.
